DVG NEEDS YOU!
HOW TO BECOME A VOLUNTEER

Telephone the DVG office

We will send you a form which asks for details such as:

  • Any special needs which might influence which clients you can assist
  • The type of help you are offering
  • Office cover
  • Driving etc
  • Times when you are/aren't available.

We'll take up two character references and because we deal with vulnerable people, a Disclosure and Barring (CRB) check is required.

If you're volunteering to drive, we'll also need to check that:

  • Your car is suitable to carry our clients
  • You have a clean driving licence
  • You are aged under 80
  • You have informed your insurance company that you will be doing voluntary driving. Insurance companies need to know that you will be receiving expenses for your driving, but in our experience this does not affect premiums.
Book a time to come into the office for an informal chat and if you're still happy to join us you can expect your first call soon!
